Verification Dossier

Australian Standards for Hazardous areas dictate that all electrical items installed in a hazardous area are regularly inspected in accordance with the recommended procedures as published in those standards. In general and in unison with Engertrol's policy, the industry is performing a full detailed inspection every four years (electric motors every year) with a 'visual' and 'close' inspection performed during the 'in between' years.

Many companies in the oil & gas/chemical, petrochemical industries have been requesting Engertrol to give third party confirmation of new installations in hazardous areas complete with the compilation of records to ensure compliance with the standards, as well as perform annual inspections in accordance with AS/NZS 2381 all parts and AS/NZS 60079 series.

For more than 25 years now Engertrol has been providing that inspection service in accordance with AS2381 for our clients, as well as our normal consulting, engineering, design, construction/installation and commissioning services for hazardous areas.

To assist with this service Engertrol has developed a software package that has been designed over many years and can now become the major component of a process plant's Verification Dossier.

As a part of the software there is a system that has been designed to assist with the collation of the inspection schedules; all items to be inspected will carry their own unique identification number in text and barcode format that will give the user the ability to call up all or any of the past years inspection records for that item. The software is unlimited in the amount of records that can be kept. There is a highly visible colour coded 'inspected' weatherproof label that is attached to the item on completion of the inspection, that can be seen from a distance. The numbering system can be a stand alone, or many of the existing motor numbers and electrical equipment/instrument numbers can be used
