Remote Weather Balloon Launcher

The current Engertrol Remote Balloon Launcher (RBL) will inflate balloons of any size and can be customised to inflate any balloon that may be introduced in the future. The Engertrol RBL is designed to work on any existing launch table with minor adjustments required and can therefore release meteorological balloons and their attendant target with ease. The Engertrol RBL can also ensure data validity of the radiosondes temperature and humidity sensors at the time of release and can meet operating environments anywhere in the world including cyclone survival, desert and marine conditions.

As a standard, Engertrol's current RBL design carries remote diagnostics and control, has the ability to monitor and control ancillary equipment such as fire alarms and stand-by generators, complete with asset management software to allow remote maintenance of critical components. Our current design also includes for safe, full training mode facilities utilising non-hazardous gasses.

The current Engertrol RBL design complies with all relevant Australian hazardous area codes, provides a safe operating environment, including static charge management, uses environmentally preferred materials and has a very low "whole of life" cost.

The current Engertrol RBL is fully developed and comes complete with operators launch control system, hydrogen control system, ambient air system, balloon launch enclosure and balloon release system, maintenance documentation, specialised tools and equipment and operational accessories. No specialised safety equipment is required other than that already in use, due to the safe design.

The current Engertrol RBL has been engineered and designed by engineers recognised for their hazardous experience and has been endorsed by two "H" class license holders. The design conforms to all relevant Australian standards. The design has undergone a full Hazard & Operability (HAZOPS) Study. All recommendations from the Hazop committee have been included in the current Engertrol design.

All installation and construction work performed by Engertrol, is of the highest standard and meets current world's best practices, as a minimum meets recognised hazardous industry codes for all parts of the world. All equipment used is new and all installations will have full certification by a licensed "H" class inspector.
