Pocket Inspector®
Pocket Inspector® is the inspection tool designed for Windows Mobile devices such as Pocket PCs and Ex certified PDA's. It utilises barcode technology that can be used in conjunction with a gas detector or can be a 'flameproof' Zone 1 or Zone 2 model. The Pocket Inspector® carries its own software that synchronises to the eDoss® system via docking stations, but when used independently in the field, access to data is instantaneous and 'visual/close' inspections can be performed with a saving of approximately 90%.
The equipment is labelled with a weatherproof barcode which is scanned to retrieve the relevant data for that item. The numbering system can be a stand alone, or the existing motor numbers and electrical equipment/instrument tag numbers can be used.
Once the inspection is complete, the updated data is entered onto the handheld device and the next item is inspected. At the end of the day, the data is then imported back into the main software. It has been found that with correct implementation of the Pocket Inspector®, savings of up to 90% for 'Detailed', 'Close' and/or 'Visual' inspections can be achieved, therefore making the annual inspection system far more cost effective over other systems.
Engertrol eDoss® and Pocket Inspector® software systems have been designed to interface with most major maintenance packages. Engertrol is currently interfacing the eDoss® and Pocket Inspector® to operate in conjunction with Maximo, SAP and Oracle systems.
